-Dance: 2 dance practices in Dec.
-Castellan: 2 upcoming Demo's. 1 in Sooke - posted on the Rocks. 1 on 26 Jan for The Beavers Winteree - Waiting on times and location.
-Baron/Baroness: 12th Nite on weekend of Jan 12. This year Daffodil 10th anniversary of Barony of Seagirt.
-Arts/Sciences: Lots of attendance. No classes held in Dec.
-Master of Blades: 1 practice in Dec. NTR -
Master of Stables: Heavy practices moved to Saturdays. Plan to Organize Wed fight practice into 2 hr classes.
-Chronicler: Chronicler Changeover. Gawain Buckland assuming duties. NTR

-Yule report submitted - Still need Autocrats for Sergeants, SST.

- Quarterly reports
- Notice from Kingdom sent out about people with Blue cards Not having to sign waiver
- Insula Magna event in May. Seagirt is requested to bring starches for feast 100 people estimated to attend. Baron James will organize a competition to donate Bread for this event
- For all Officers if you are extending past 2 years term there is a new extension form to be filled out
- Insula Magna event looking for Decorations, Money, Prizes and someone to organize Dance. Request Seagirt donate $200 for event
- Ithra Insula Magna donation of $100
- Motion by Lenora to donate to principality fund
- Motion by Baroness to give 10% ($250) of years profits to principality/Passed Check to be given at Coronet

Daffodil:
- Email on the Rocks being sent out once per week until event looking for Volunteers and Rapier Marshall?s

Seneschal:
- Quarterly Reports due NLT 15 Apr 08 to Principality superior
- Insula Magna Event: Baron James organizing starches, Items for Heraldic display that are already made/What does seagirt wish to do/need to do anything
- Stepping down. Eidard volunteered for position and is assuming duties as of May 1

Daffodil:
- Good time had by all
- Still working on event final report

Coronet:
- Schedule approved and posted
- One ?official Retinue? member. Looking for people with Ret experience
- Largess donations still being accepted. Example of appropriate items: Wools, Clasps, buttons, books, meads etc
- Looking into getting electricity for Gate. If unable to arrange power permission granted to purchase light source for gate box.
- Everything going smoothly

NSCA:
- NSCA application forms and Youth/Minor waivers in effect. Officers need to be NSCA members.

Master of Blades:
- New Iron Key gorget
- 2 tournaments held in Mar. Daffodil and annual Chocolate Bunny Tourney

- Looking for new webmaster to update and maintain website.

Herald:

- Getting letters back from kingdom ? word for Laurel taking time approx 4 months or so
- Ysannes? name and device registered. Aline?s device returned for reworking

Arts and Sciences:
- Continuing as per normal, regular Attendance
- Sara assuming duties as deputy

Castellan:
- Demo on Sun the 6th of Apr @ 9am for scouts/Hotdog roast afterwards
- New people directed to A&S

Dance:
- Happening every Tuesday 7 ? 9 except first Tues of each month. No profit made this month
- Really, Nothing has changed, we had dance, as always,. Ukranian Culture Center.

Baron/Baroness:
- Majesties decision: Ming and Elina chosen as new Baron and Baroness. Thank you to all who stepped forwards.
- Stepping down at Coronet. Probably at morning court
- Sat Apr 5th final social. All day event. If you need garb assistance bring your stuff or help the Baroness with sewing. Evening Festivities planned

Master of Stables:
- Batuu rolled ankle in Mar fight practice but otherwise fine.
- Attendance decreasing on Wed nights

- Date for Daffodil 2009 decided, 21st March

Meeting Called to Order by Seneschal

Seneschal:
- Elina (Robin Lam) steps down as Seneschal (President). Eideard (Edd Macdonald) steps up. 1st Council as new Seneschal
- Contact list for Officers and deputies. To include how long have been in office
- Looking for a ?Gate Deputy. Duties include taking charge of organizing Gate and training new people to stand Gate Duty
- Traditions are not written down ? would like to create a History of Seagirt and its traditions. James working on Seagirt Wiki. Can Google Antir-Wiki and look for Seagirt page.

Coronet:
- Made money. Net profit of $146.64
- Final gate total was 266 people including 5 babies (SCAers in training)
- Cheques to be written
- Travel issues due to Ferry/Accident in Sooke delayed people arriving
- Site emergencies, No water for several hours, Port-a-john services required early
- Nothing else to Report

Exchequer:
- Monthly report
- Note to create policy for NSF checks at next Financial meeting
- Away for next Council meeting will advance check for Hall rental to HL Anastasia
- Signing authority has to be changed. Have to have 2 members on the bank account who are members of the credit union.
- Seneschal must be a signing Authority. Change to be made at Seagirt Financial meeting

Master of Blades:
- Coronet Tourney. Poor showing from Seagirt as it looked like tourney was not happening
- Restructuring fencing group, details to follow

Chronicler:
- Need Standby for June Council meeting. Her Excellency Elina Volunteered
- Looking for New Webmaster. Contact Gawain and James if interested
- Received emails about additions/corrections to Seagirt Webpage.

Herald:
- Heraldry happened at Coronet.
- Wonderful display from HL Anastasia during baronial court

Arts and Sciences:

- 3 demos requested. Parkland School, Prospect Lake (June 23rd), and Gifted Children's Association (31st May).

- Proposal to enter Buccaneer Days, Oak bay tea party parades. Jacques to investigate
- Wish to start a monthly tourney (this month May Long weekend) with social afterwards. Details to be posted

- Sealion warpoints: Arts points: Carved Welsh Love Spoon or Best Use/Representation of Leeks in a dish, Science points: Siege Engines/weapons, Rapier points: Street brawls. Suggesting a capture/rescue the baroness event

Master of Stables:
- Coronet. During Evening Torch lite Tourney several problems/concerns arose including: No Armor Inspections, No armor, inebriated fighters. Report to be sent to Principality Marshall.
- All other Tourneys went well no other incidents
- Issues arose with Spear the beer event at Coronet. Report to be sent to Principality Marshall

Meeting called to order by Seneschal.

Exchequer:
- Mistake in 2008 budget Sealion not removed. New budget drafted & balanced.
- Suggested an amendment re: charges for N.S.F. cheques. Decided on $5.00.
- Received $291.27 from Insula Magna event.

Master of Stables:
- Less fighters at practice, average of 2.
- Proposes to bring Knights from mainland for practice, pay their walk-on cost.
Will begin pass-the-hat at practice.

Master of Blades:
- Sirt has stepped down.
- Mathieu has stepped up
. - Planning to bring in some Dons in Sept or Oct for Seagirt.

Herald:
- Aline re-submitted her device registration.
- Re-submitting Otter award and Populace badge.

Arts & Sciences:
- Held at Hucbald & Morgaine?s house, as usual.
- Planning a ?Gate? workshop for a future A&S night.

Castellan:
- Demo at Lochside School went very well.
- Previous demo ? sent us a $40 gift certificate to Tanner?s Bookstore. Will give
to Exchequer.
- Jacques will bring $150 from Lochside demo to next Council meeting.

Dance:
- Goes as usual. Good attendance.

Baron & Baroness:
- Monthly Tourney same weekend as Coronation. Hope many fighters turn out
anyway. Tourney is July 20th, at 1pm.
- SYG coming up ? hoping for lots of support for Rashid.
- Need handmade items from Seagirtians for largesse.

Seneschal:
- Second quarter reports due soon.
- Seth needs regalia for Insula Magna Champion. A&S has lots of fabric for
his use. Any other monies to come out of Insula Magna cheque.
- Crickstow?s family fun event on July 19th. Contact Theocharista if going.

Lenora:
- Thank you Sirt. Welcome Mathieu.
- Suggests putting Seagirt device on pavilion, like Lionsgate. A&S will plan this.

Baroness:
- We promised part of profits from last year's events (10%). No cheque was given
at Coronet. Still need to pay this ($250) to General Funds.
- Also need to pay $100 donation to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as was
approved at last Council.

James:
- He and Glynis bought the Harp, Hammer, and Seagull pewter molds, and ask if
Council would like to buy them. Council to pay $100 to James.

SEAGIRT COUNCIL MEEING: DECEMBER 2, 2008

Written reports accepted from: Exchequer, Master of Stables, Master of Blades, Castellan, Dance Mistress, and Scribe.

New business:

MOS: There will be Knights coming to the January 18th fighter practice.
We have TAM paperwork not going through. James will look into this.
Seth won the monthly heavy tourney.

MOB: Surt won the monthly rapier tourney.

Dance: Collected $102.15 in pass-the-hat.

Chronicler: Ysane (that's me) was accepted as your new Chronicler.

Baron & Baroness: were absent but sent a report. Both sets of Royals will attend Daffodil. Royals also need event bids.

Seneschal: Owen was accepted as Deputy Seneschal.
Discussion about Upper Island Barony.

A&S: Sarra will do a current inventory of Baronial A&S materials.

Exchequer: Brought forth tentative 2009 Baronial budget for discussion and approval.

Upcoming events:

Yule: Baron & Baroness need $100 for regalia and prize for first Baronial Bardic Champion.

Daffodil: Menu for feast is ready, website is up, feast tickets are available, tourney format is ready. Good to go.

Other business:

We are looking for new event sites for camping. Many are looking at possible sites, but nothing yet. Camp Barnard wants to raise site cost. Discussed Goldstream's group camp site as a possibility.
